The regiments and units of the Foreign Legion.
The Foreign Legion is composed of the Foreign Legion Command (COMLE) and eleven regiments or corps-forming units (nine in mainland France, two overseas).
Among these, six regiments are assigned to the Land Forces Command (CFOT) within their combined arms brigades. They are regularly engaged in external operations (OPEX), internal missions (MISSINT), and participate in the short-term missions (MCD) of the French Army. The two overseas units fall under the joint forces structure.
Finally, three units with specific vocations are directly subordinate to the Foreign Legion Command and work for the benefit of the entire institution (1st Foreign Regiment, 4th Foreign Regiment, and the Foreign Legion Recruiting Group).
