Who can apply to join the Foreign Legion?

  • All nationalities, including French nationals.
  • All professions.

Where to apply?


To apply, simply go to the recruitment office in your region in mainland France for information, or directly to our pre-selection centers in Aubagne or Fort de Nogent. You will be provided with food and accommodation during the selection tests. You will leave the recruitment center as soon as you fail one of the tests.

When to come?

  • Open 24/7.
  • For practical reasons, please avoid coming after 9 p.m. if possible.

Required documents

  • Passport required, or any form of ID for Schengen Area nationals.

Important information

  • No remote recruitment.
  • No recruitment in foreign countries.
  • Do not send any information before your visit.
  • Come directly to mainland France or to the recruitment and information offices in Réunion or Tahiti. Recruitment at these offices is reserved for candidates of French nationality.
